About the event
The sixth annual Moonshine Endurance swim from New Brunswick to Prince Edward Island will take place on Saturday, August 7th, 2021. Registartion opens on April 19th, 2021. Registration will close when we reach 10 swimmers and a wait-list will be started.
- Event agenda will be distributed to swimmers by July 1st 2021.
Each swimmer must raise a minimum of $1,000. Kayakers are encouraged to also fundraise. All funds go to support the Moonshine Endurance sports infrastructure project.
Every swimmer must be accompanied by a Certified kayaker. It is the responsibility of the swimmer to acquire a qualified kayaker and without one, they will not be permitted to swim. Each kayaker is required to acquire the necessary safety gear, as recommended by Transport Canada. Without this safety gear, the kayaker will not be permitted to paddle leaving their swimmer without a paddler.
Participants need to book and pay for their own rooms. Please note that kayakers and swimmers will be required to attend a mandatory session the afternoon prior to swim day. More details to follow soon.
Registration fee: $150
Event registration includes:

We will not be encouraging any close contact for on-land activities. A propane fire will be started for safety reasons, but there will be no seating provided. Communication is online, when the swimmer arrives they will be encouraged to keep a 2m distance from other swimmers for the pre-event briefing. Please arrive no earlier than 1 hour prior to scheduled start time.
Swimmers will line up along the beach, 2m apart (within the width of the designated area). While the swimmers are in the water they will not be within 2m of one another (exceptions made for rescues).
Swimmers will be encouraged to stay 2m apart from one another.
Our apologies, we will not be hosting the annual Swashbuckler ( post-challenge ceremony ) and there will be no food served. Participants will be encouraged to head back home rather than stay and visit with one another to limit personal contact and promote social distancing.
